CAJE Course '08/'09
Instructor: Ronit Sherwin, Executive Director, Nishmah

Amazing Grace: The Collected Stories of Grace Paley
Grace Paley was an "amazingly" prolific writer and social activist throughout her eighty-four years of life (having died in August 2007).

Paley focused much of her work on the daily and inner lives of women, mostly Jewish, and more
often than not, New Yorkers.  The character and voice of her writing resonated her childhood languages of Yiddish,
Russian, and English.  This course will survey many of Paley's stories from her decades of writing.  The text for this
course will be The Collected Stories by Grace Paley.  A syllabus of selected stories will be sent upon registration
of the course.  Books will also be given at the first class, but can be retrieved prior to then if desired from CAJE.
